Gern geschehen
There is another one spelling: “Gerne geschehen”. The meanings…
- gern/gerne = willingly, gladly
- geschehen = to happen
This is not truly same with “Bitte schön”…
- Gern geschehen. = It’s my pleasure. / My pleasure. [literally: I gladly helped you. / I enjoyed it.]
- Bitte. = You’re welcome. [lit.: Please]
- Bitte schön. = You’re very welcome.
The English sentence “Don’t mention it!” has a lots of different German counterparts (with literally meanings):
- Nichts zu danken! = [Nothing to thank for!]
- Nicht der Rede wert. = [Not worth talking about.]
- Keine Ursache! = [Never mind!]
- Dafür nicht. = [Nothing for this.]
And “No worries!”…
- Kein Ding. = [Nothing.]
- Kein Thema. = [No problem.]
And…
- Schön recht. = [Pretty well.]
- Passt schön. = [Fits nice.]
